Four-car crash on N18 in Co Clare causes huge delays

Rescue services bring three people to hospital for treatment after rush-hour collision

Emergency services are attending the scene of a four car collision on the N18 Limerick to Ennis Road near Cratloe, in Co Clare which has caused huge delays in the area for motorists.

Four units from Limerick City and County Fire and Rescue Service were called to the crash on the southbound lane of the N18 shortly before 9am on Wednesday.

The carriageway between Junction 4 Cratloe Moyle and Junction 3 Coonagh West was reduced to one lane following the collision.

Gardai, emergency paramedics and member of the Fire and Rescue service are at the scene dealing with both incidents and motorist are advised to avoid the area.

Three people have been taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. Their injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
