Four men are due in court in Cork on Monday after they rammed two garda cars during a pursuit in Cork city on Saturday night.
The men, who are all in their late 20s and early 30s, were arrested off the Commons Road on Cork's Northside around 9.30pm after they rammed two patrol cars in the Gurranebraher area.
The men had been seen acting suspiciously in the Ballincollig and Killumney areas around 9pm but failed to stop for gardaí and patrol cars across the city were put on alert.
Two unmarked patrol cars went to apprehend the car on the northside of the city when they were rammed. No one was seriously hurt in the incident although both garda cars were damaged.
The men who are from Cork and Dublin were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
It came after an intelligence led garda operation in Cork combatting travelling gangs who have committed a spate of burglaries across the city and county over the past month or so.
