More than 200 people joined in a search for missing man Andrejs Maisaks in Kilcock, Co Kildare at the weekend.
Mr Maisaks (32), originally from Latvia, lived in Kinsealy, Co Dublin. He left his home on Monday, October 21st to attend a medical appointment in Kilcock but never showed up. His car was later found at Boycetown Cemetery in Kilcock.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Liam Doyle said the people of Kilcock wanted to do all they could to help in the search to find Mr Maisaks. He said some people had known his mother as she had previously lived in Kilcock and others joined in when they saw the search.
“The weather has been horrific at times but people have been great,” he said. A Garda spokesman said the public’s assistance was being sought in the case. Mr Maisaks is 6 foot tall and of thin build, with fair hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a red and brown coloured light jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. Meanwhile, gardaí in Galway are renewing their appeal to the public for help in tracing the whereabouts of James Ryan (39) from Gort Leinn, Old Monivea Road, Galway. He was last seen on the evening of Tuesday, October 22nd in Claregalway, Co Galway. He was driving his vehicle, gold coloured Nissan Almera hatchback, registration number 04W382, at that time.
He is 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 12 stone and has short black hair. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured jacket, light coloured shirt, blue jeans and dark brown shoes.
