A Garda investigation was underway on Monday night after a young man was shot in Tallaght in Dublin.

The 24-year-old man was in a car in Parkhill West when shots were fired at him from another passing car.

He is believed to have suffered non-lifethreatening injuries to his arm and back.

The man presented himself at Tallaght hospital for treatment at about 9pm on Monday night.
