A man has died after being struck by a car in Celbridge, Co Kildare on Saturday evening.
The man was walking on the Maynooth Road when the incident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Naas General Hospital where a postmortem will take place.
The road has reopened following an examination of the scene by forensic investigators.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them, particularly anyone with camera footage (including dash cam) and were travelling along the Maynooth Road and the surrounding area between 10.00pm and 11.30pm yesterday evening.

In a separate incident, a woman in her 30s was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on Saturday night in Dublin city centre.
The woman, who was hit by an SUV on George’s Street, suffered serious injuries and was taken to St James’s Hospital.
The driver of the SUV was unharmed.
The road was closed for examination but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Anyone in the area at the time and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
