A man in his 50s has died on Monday morning after the car he was driving veered into a ditch in Co Limerick.

Nobody else was involved in the incident, which happened around 1.30am near Ballincolly in Kilmallock. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital.

The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
