Man killed in single vehicle collision in Co Limerick

A man has died in a road traffic collision in Co Limerick.

The deceased was a passenger in a van that collided with a ditch on the Old Cratloe Road, near the Limerick Clare border.

The single vehicle collision occurred around 10am this morning.

The driver of the van, another male, was not seriously injured.

Gardaí closed the road to allow for a road traffic collision investigator to examine the scene.

Three units from Limerick City and County Fire Service attended the scene after having been alerted at 9.58am and returned to their base in Limerick city at 12.15pm.

A unit of the national ambulance service was also there for a period of time.
