A fisherman is in hospital in Dublin this evening after collapsing on board a vessel in Dublin Bay.
The Irish Coast Guard was called when a member of crew fell in the storage area below deck on the boat and lost consciousness this afternoon.
The Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 116 was sent to the scene, and despite difficult weather conditions, a paramedic was able to land on board.
The man was stabilised before the trawler headed for shore.
The Irish Coast Guard Rescue team from Howth, a Dublin Fire Brigade unit from Kilbarack and a HSE ambulance from Swords met the vessel at the West Pier in Howth, and helped to take the patient by stretcher onto the pier.
The man was taken by ambulance to Beaumont hospital where he is conscious and stable.
