The majority of tourist sites around the country are closed on Thursday with many advising visitors to check for updates. However, the level of information on opening hours varies from one site to another.
The following is a status breakdown of some of the most popular attractions for which information is available.
Guinness Store House: Closed on Thursday due to weather. Hope to open at 9.30am on Friday but advise would-be visitors to check website www.guinness-storehouse.com for updates.
Trinity College Book of Kells: The Book of Kells exhibition is closed until noon on Sunday.
National Museum Sites: All National Museum of Ireland’s sites are closed on Thursday and Friday due to the weather red alert.
These include the museums of Archaeology on Kildare Street, the Natural History Museum on Merrion Square and the Country Life exhibition in Turlough Park, Co Mayo.
The Irish Country Furniture & Albert Bender Galleries at Museum of Decorative Arts & History at Collins Barracks have been closed since February 21st for renovation works.
Dublin Hop On - Hop Off Bus Tours : In line with other bus services on Thursday, the tourist Hop On Hop Off tours are currently suspended. Updates are awaited on when the service will return and passengers are advised to check the Dublin Bus website for information.
Kilmainham Gaol and Courthouse: Both sites are closed today and tickets will be refunded. No information available on Friday status.
Dublin Zoo: Dublin Zoo is closed on Thursday and Friday.
Newgrange/Bru na Boinne: Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre for the Neolithic monuments of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth remain closed until further notice.
Dublin Bikes: Dublin City Council has advised members of the public and tourists alike that the Dublin Bikes service will remain unavailable until further notice.
