A motorcyclist in his 40s has died after a road collision in Co Leitrim on Thursday evening.
The man’s motorbike collided with a car on the R208 at Aghacashlaun, Carrick-on-Shannon, at about 5pm. His body was removed from the scene to University Hospital Sligo where a postmortem will take place.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his late 30s, was uninjured. Gardaí in Carrick-on-Shannon have appealed for witnesses, or any road users with camera footage, to contact them.
Separately man in his 70s has died after a road traffic collision in Co Kerry on Wednesday evening.
The crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred at about 5.30pm on the N21, in the townland of Knockbrack, between Castleisland and Abbeyfeale, Co Kerry.
The driver of one of these vehicles, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to Tralee General Hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries. He later died.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were also taken to Tralee General Hospital where they received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí in Listowel are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this collision to contact them.
