Motorist in serious condition following crash in Dublin

The driver of a vehicle is in a serious condition and his passenger has been taken to hospital following a road crash in Dublin.

The incident occurred outside the Canterbury Gate, a residential development, on the Navan Road in Co Dublin at about 6pm.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The passenger in the vehicle, a male youth, has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road remains closed. A technical examination is due to take place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

Any road users who were travelling on the (M3) Navan Road, towards Mulhuddart and near Canterbury Gate on Monday between 5.45pm and 6.15pm and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make it available to gardaí.
