Services resume after delays due to early morning crash between Saggart and Belgard

Services on the Luas Red Line in Dublin have been restored after they were delayed for several hours on Friday due to a crash between a truck and one of the trams.

Transdev, which runs the Luas, said shortly before 9.30am that the service had been restored. It warned passengers to expect delays for a short period of time.

Ambulances and several units of Dublin Fire Brigade were at the scene. It is understood two people have been hospitalised.

Red Line services operated as normal between Tallaght and the Point and Dublin Bus was accepting Luas tickets.

Transdev apologised for the inconvenience to passengers.
