Investigation under way into incident at bus station in Northern Ireland

A woman has died after being knocked down by a bus in Co Antrim.

The incident happened at Lisburn bus station in Northern Ireland this morning, operator Translink said.

The Lisburn depot has been closed.

A Translink spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a fatal incident occurred in Lisburn bus centre today, around 10.15am.

“Emergency services attended the scene. A full investigation is under way.”

A PSNI inspector said: “A woman has died following a collision involving a bus within the bus depot at Smithfield Street in Lisburn.

“An investigation into the cause of the collision is under way.”
