An Irishman has drowned in an accident in Australia.
The man, who is believed to be from Co Kilkenny, died in the accident off the Gold Coast at the weekend.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the man had died, but could not provide any further details.
"Our embassy in Canberra is in contact with the family and is offering all possible consular assistance," she said.
