How do you catch the eye of a leading international model? Ignore her. Such is the advice from the wondrously named and proportioned Adriana Sklenarikova.
She is the newly appointed front, so to speak, of Wonderbra. Ms Sklenarikova says she was attracted to her fiance, Real Madrid footballer Christian Karembou, because he paid no attention to her when they were first introduced.
"Usually when I meet guys, they're all trying to proposition me within the first minute. But this one never did a thing and that's why I started to be interested. Christian is so shy and always standing in the corner of a room. He's a sweetheart. I don't like a man running around me all day."
If this sounds like a tall story, that may be because the latest Wonderbra woman is six feet tall with legs climbing seemingly forever but actually to 49 inches, a figure logged by the Guinness Book of Records. Yesterday further height was added by a pair of vertiginous stiletto sandals. Her bust, on this uplifting occasion, measured a stately 34B.
Irish males who wish to try the Karembou approach to courtship should be advised time is running out; the couple plan to marry on December 27th. However, Slovakian-born Ms Sklenarikova does have a younger sister, Natalia. Her sibling is studying medicine, the Wonderbra model's own career choice before she was "discovered" in Prague. A return to medicine now seems unlikely. "No, it's too late and I'm too old". She is aged 27.
While her sister was never happy modelling, she enjoyed it immediately. "I'm almost trembling with excitement before I go on the ramp at shows."
As Wonderbra model for the next two years, she will be seen in a new campaign on billboards throughout Europe over the months ahead. In the meantime, Ms Sklenarikova will be more preoccupied with her imminent marriage and the prospects of changing from wonder model to wonder mother. "I'm a woman," she helpfully points out. "I want to have a family. I'd like many, many children but not so many as my boyfriend. He comes from a family of 17."
