Racing: Michael Kinane looks set to resume his association with Best Alibi in the Budweiser Irish Derby at the Curragh on Sunday.

Kinane, who will be seeking his third win in the colts' Classic, last steered the Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old into third place in the Dante Stakes.

Kinane partnered Septimus, winner of that York trial, for Aidan O'Brien in the Vodafone Derby, with Ryan Moore guiding Best Alibi into sixth place behind Sir Percy.

"I believe Mick Kinane rides him. He rode him in the Dante and I think he's been approached," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager to the colt's owners, the Gainsborough Stud. "The horse is much improved since Epsom. He wants it good to firm and definitely doesn't want it not on the soft side.

"Good, maybe good to soft okay but not soft. It's good to firm now and they are putting water on. Maybe they'll stop
watering now they have got the other horses in the race."

Kinane has won the race on Galileo in 2001 and High Chaparral a year later - both for O'Brien - while Stoute has won it three times with Shergar (1981), Shareef Dancer (1983) and Shahrastani (1986).
