German synth legends Kraftwerk, Phoenix and Vampire Weekend have been confirmed as headliners for Longitude, a new festival taking place this year at Marlay Park in Dublin.

The boutique three day festival, which takes place on the weekend of July 19th to 21st, will also feature Foals, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jake Bugg and Modest Mouse along with hometown favourites Villagers.

Another home favourite Kodaline have been confirmed along with MMoths, Tom Odell among others.

Marlay Park has been a music venue for several years, but this year’s festival will utilise more than the main field.

There will be three stages over three fields. Two of the main stages will be outdoor.

The capacity for each day will be 9,500 with a mixture of day and weekend tickets. There will be no camping.

The festival will incorporate elements of Forbidden Fruit, the successful June Bank Holiday Festival held in Kilmainham, and Electric Picnic.

There will be an arts and crafts dimension to the new festival similar to that in Electric Picnic.

The festival is first to be organised by Zac Desmond, the son of MCD promoter and founder Denis Desmond.

Early bird tickets weekend tickets priced at €129.50 and day tickets priced at €44.50 will be on sale until April 7th. After that the tickets will be €54.50 for a day ticket and €149.50 for a weekend pass.

The line-up for the Oxegen music festival, which takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend in Punchestown Racecourse, will be announced shortly.
