GAA: The Leinster Council has postponed this weekend's AIB club finals fixtures, some of which have already been deferred by two weeks due to the freezing conditions.
After meeting this afternoon the council decided two reschedule three of the finals for the New Year, while it is hoped the other three can take place on Sunday week, December 19th.
The Leinster senior football final between Dublin’s Kilmacud Crokes and Offaly’s Rhode was set for Portlaoise last Sunday, but is now set to take place on an unconfirmed January date.
The same is the case with the Leinster senior hurling final between O’Loughlin Gaels of Kilkenny and Oulart-the-Ballagh of Wexford, originally set for Dr Cullen Park in Carlow and twice postponed over the last two Sundays.
The Leinster special club junior hurling final between Wolfe Tones and Fingallians has simply been rescheduled for 2011, while the junior hurling final between Drumcullen and John Lockes at Rath is set for the 19th.
It is hoped the intermediate football final featuring Ballymore and Nobber and the junior football final between Ballinabrackey and St. Andrews can take place on the same day.
