Lorry-driver killed in north Dublin crash

A 59-year-old man has been killed when the lorry he was driving crashed this morning on the M1 motorway in Co Dublin.

A 59-year-old man has been killed when the lorry he was driving crashed this morning on the M1 motorway in Co Dublin.

Gardai said the lorry veered off the road at Ring, Balbriggan, at around 8.10 a.m.

There were no other vehicles involved.

The man's body was taken to Beaumont Hospital where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out.

He was named tonight as Mr Tommy McCabe from Church Hill, Navan, Co Meath.
