An 18-year-old man has been shot and injured in Limerick.
The man was a passenger in a car at the entrance to the Pineview Gardens/Delmege Park area of Moyross at 8.45pm last night when at least three shots were fired at him, a Garda statement said.
He was removed by ambulance to Limerick Regional Hospital where his condition is described as stable. The female driver of the car was not physically injured in the incident, the statement added.
"A technical examination at the scene of the shooting is now completed. The vehicle involved was also removed for technical examination."
Gardaí at Mayorstone Park Garda station are investigating.
Separately, gardai in Dublin are investigating a shooting in Ronanstown early this morning.
A Garda statement said at least one shot was fired at the front hall door of a house at Moorefield Avenue, Clondalkin, at around 12.30am.
There were two people in the house at the time. Nobody was injured.
The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination. Investigations are ongoing, the Garda said.
