A 19-year-old man has died following a car crash in Co Kilkenny this afternoon.
Gardaí in Thomastown are investigating the circumstances of the crash which happened at about 1.20pm some three kilometers outside Mullinavat on the N9 Waterford road.
Three male passengers in the car were seriously injured. The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed from the scene and has been taken to the morgue at Waterford Regional hospital.
The other two occupants, who are in their twenties, were taken to Waterford Regional hospital for treatment.
There were no other vehicles involved. The road is closed pending a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
