Man (19) dies in Wexford crash

A teenager has died in hospital after he was involved in a road collision in Co Wexford early this morning.

A teenager has died in hospital after he was involved in a road collision in Co Wexford early this morning.

The two-car collision took place in Rathnure Upper, Enniscorthy at 2.20am.

The deceased man (19) was the driver of one of the cars. He had been taken to Wexford General Hospital but was later transferred to St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin where he was pronounced dead.

A male passenger from the car was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. A woman driving the second car, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was also taken to Wexford General Hospital with minor injuries.

Gardai had closed the road to allow for forensic collision investigators to examine the crash site, but it has since reopened.
