Alva Curry (33) was the fourth man put to death this year in Texas, which leads the nation in capital punishment.

Two more Texas inmates are scheduled to receive a lethalinjection this week.

Curry was executed for shooting to death David Vela, 20, while robbing the Austin, Texas convenience store where Vela worked on October 16th, 1991. He and accomplice Mark Davis made away with $220.

He was the 293rd person executed in Texas since the state resumed capital punishment after the US Supreme Court lifted a national death penalty ban in 1976.
