A 39 year old man from Dundalk man has been arrested by gardaí following a suspected arson attack outside Dundalk Garda Station early this morning.

A car was driven into the yard at the station and set alight around 2.20 a.m. this morning.

At least two other cars were damaged in the incident.

The man was arrested for drink-driving and detained at Dundalk Garda Station for criminal damage caused to the other cars.

He was released at 11 a.m. and a file has been sent to the DPP.
