Man charged over murder of Co Clare farmer

A man in his fifties has been charged in connection with the murder of an elderly farmer in Co Clare earlier today.

A man in his fifties has been charged in connection with the murder of an elderly farmer in Co Clare earlier today.

The man appeared before a special sitting of Tulla district court tonight charged with the murder of 83-year-old Mr Jack Daly.

The farmer was found dead at his home in Bellharbour, Co Clare at 7 a.m. It is understood the deceased man lived in the house with his sister.

The scene at the house has been preserved pending the arrival of the Gardai Forensic Bureau and the State Pathologist Dr Maire Cassidy.
