A man has gone on trial at Letterkenny Circuit Court charged with failing to disclose information relating to the murder investigation of the Malawian chief justice's daughter Paiche Onyemaechi.
Nigerian national Chijioke Ezekwem (26), the Holiday Hostel, Moville, Co Donegal, has been remanded in custody since last November after being questioned in relation to the murder that occurred between July 8th and August 19th, 2004.
Mr Ezekwem is pleading not guilty to the charge.
Ms Onyemaechi (25), a mother of two young sons, was found murdered in Piltown, south Kilkenny. She had been beheaded and her remains wrapped in a bin liner. Her head was never recovered.
She had been living in Waterford city with her Nigerian husband Chika (31). He had reported his wife missing on July 8th but he has not been seen since.
The case is expected to last several days.
