Man dies in Co Limerick fire

A man in his late 60s has died in a house fire in Co Limerick

A man in his late 60s has died in a house fire in Co Limerick. Neighbours alerted the emergency services to the blaze at Oakley Lawn in the village of Caherconlish just before noon yesterday.

The man, who has yet to be named by gardaí, is understood to have lived alone at the house. A post-mortem was due to be conducted yesterday at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

Gardaí said they believed the fire started accidentally.
