A man in his 40s is expected before a sitting of Carlow District Court this morning charged in relation to a seizure of drugs in Kildare on Tuesday.

A second male aged in his 50s has been released without charge.

Drugs with an estimated street value of €315,000 were seized in Co Kildare after gardaí stopped a van on the M7 close to Kildare town at around 8pm on Tuesday.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 3.5kgs of cocaine and 10kgs of cannabis resin worth in the region of €315,000, subject to analysis.

Two men, who are Irish nationals, were arrested at the scene.
