A man remains in a coma in a Dublin hospital tonight after he was found with head injuries in a laneway yesterday afternoon.
The man was found with in Old Corduff Lane, in Blanchardstown Village. The street runs from Main Street, under the N3 and provides a pedestrian link from the village to to the Corduff area.
He was found by passers-by in an unconscious state and taken Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, where he remains tonight.
"At this stage it is not known what caused the man's injuries and Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who used the lane or were in the general vicinity between 3pm and 4.15pm yesterday," a Garda spokeswoman said.
"In particular they specifically want two people to contact them. One is an Irishman with red hair and a beard and aged about 35 years. The other is believed to be an Eastern European lady, short blonde hair, slim and in her mid twenties," she added.
"These people happened on the scene just as the emergency services arrived".
