One man remains in custody today in connection with an armed raid and kidnapping at a nightclub in Co Donegal yesterday.
A garda spokesman said one of the two men arrested in the Republic is still being detained, the other man was released yesterday at 4.30 p.m. The investigation into the incident is ongoing he said.
The RUC arrested a third man in the North in the cross-border which followed the raid at Red Castle, Co Donegal, overnight yesterday involving at least three armed and masked men.
Two of the raiders fled the premises and headed towards the border with a hostage who was released later unharmed at the border near Muss in the Donegal area.
In a follow-up operation gardaí stopped a car at the border and arrested two men. A firearm was also recovered. While the RUC, who were immediately alerted, arrested one man.
