A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Belfast last weekend in which a shot was fired at a car that hit a PSNI officer.
The Peugeot 406 hit a patrol car in the Twinbrook area of west Belfast on Saturday night.
A female PNSI officer was then hit by the car after she got out of her vehicle. She suffered a hand injury, cuts and bruising. The injured officer and a female colleague, who was suffering from shock, were treated in hospital.
Police discharged one shot at the vehicle, which was later found to contain a small amount of suspected drugs. The driver made off on foot.
A man in his 20s was arrested in the Armagh area yesterday. He was questioned in connection with the attempted murder of a PSNI officer and released on police bail early this morning.
The Police Ombudsman is investigating the incident.
