Mr Doran, said to be an Irish-born temporary resident of Faliraki, was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle, according to local police.

A journalist for the Faliraki Mirrorsaid that of the 10 arrested, two were friends of the victim and seven were friends of the suspected killer. He said that following the death, the town's mayor was working with local police and the public prosecutor to crack down on tour operators leading large groups of youths on pub crawls.
