Man killed in Kilkenny stabbing

A 21-year-old man has died after he was stabbed during an attack in Kilkenny in the early hours of the morning.

A 21-year-old man has died after he was stabbed during an attack in Kilkenny in the early hours of the morning.

The alarm was raised at 1.30am when emergency services were called to an apartment at Larchfield Court. Upon arrival they discovered two men suffering from stab wounds.

Both men were taken to St Luke’s hospital where one of them died a short time later.

The second man, aged 27, remains in hospital where his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A third man (35) who was in the apartment when gardaí arrived was arrested and taken to Kilkenny Garda station where he was detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
