A man has died after falling into Dublin’s Royal Canal.
Gardaí were called to Ballybough Bridge in the north inner city at about 6.30am.
The 22-year-old was pulled from the water and brought to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
It is understood the man was with a group of people at the time of the incident. Investigating officers are trying to piece together what happened, and have appealed for anyone in the area between 6am and 6.30am to come forward.
