A man who was caught with mixing paraphernalia and €20,000 worth of cocaine received a two-year prison sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court today.

Gareth Enright (22) originally from England but with an address at Moyglass View, Lucan, County Dublin, was sentenced by Ms Justice Katherine Delahunt for running "cottage industry" from his home.

Enright was sentenced to two years in prison with the final 12 months suspended on condition he keep the peace and be of good behaviour for two years on his release.

During sentencing Ms Justice Enright said Enright had fully cooperated with gardaí and was undergoing treatment for his own drug addiction.

Independent TD Tony Gregory criticised the leniency of the sentence and calling it "quite extraordinary".

Mr Gregory said the sentence was a "slap in the face to everyone who has campaigned against drug-crime in this country."
