There will be Masses in Ireland this weekend to mark the first anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II on April 2nd last year.
Archbishop Brady will be chief celebrant at a special Mass to mark the event in St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh at 11am tomorrow.
At 6pm today in Dublin's ProCathedral, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will celebrate a special Mass also, with choirs from Ampleforth College and Abbey taking part. It will be followed at 8pm by a Totus Tuus reflective celebration in music and word led by the Palestrina choir and attended by members of the Polish community. There will be Mass in Polish at 9pm.
Tomorrow at 11.15am, RTÉ 1 television will broadcast a special studio Mass to mark the anniversary.
There will be a prayer for the late pope on An Evening Prayer after the late News on RTÉ 1 television tomorrow night, while the channel's Nationwide programme will film a special commemoration with Cork's Polish community at the exact time of the former pope's death, for transmission next week.
In Rome's St Peter's Square, at 5.30pm on Monday, Pope Benedict will preside at a special Mass marking the anniversary.
