NFL round-up: Mayo plunged Cork's National Football League campaign into deeper trouble with a dramatic late 2-8 to 1-12 win at Páirc Uí Rinn tonight.
With the prospect of Division 3 football looming, Cork were desperate for the points and looked to be on course, setting and high tempo early on and, with James Masters pulling the strings, forging a 2-5 to 0-5 half-time lead.
But Mayo turned the course of the match early in the second period, a Conor Mortimer goal bringing them back into the contest within minutes of the restart.
Mortimer, who finished with a personal tally of 1-4, was instrumental in Mayo's comeback but the winning point was kicked by Aidan Kilcoyne late in the contest.
At Parnell Park, Dublin proved far too strong for Division 1A strugglers Fermanagh, Paul Caffrey's side easing to a 3-15 to 0-7 victory.
In Division 2B, Cavan moved clear of Meath at the top of the table with a 3-10 to 0-15 win over Antrim at Casement Park.
