GAA round-up:Last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists Mayo will meet the form team so far when they go head to head with Donegal in the National Football League Division One final.
After Mayo's earlier result against Galway, Donegal saw off the challenge of Kildare.
Kildare's John Doyle did his best to keep his side in it with a goal and three points but with Colm McFadden in flying form Donegal were not to be denied and won by 1-13 to 1-11.
A barnstorming second half from Mayo was what won it in the end after an evenly contested first half saw the two teams go in level at the break on one goal and five points apiece.
The Tribesmen found the net first through Cormac Bain before Nicholas Joyce pointed for an early advantage. Mayo were undeterred, however, and a goal from Ger Brady and two points from Conor Mortimer ensured parity at halftime.
Galway began the second half brightly with the Joyces, Padraig and Nicholas, both hitting the target to put a three point gap between the sides.
The turning point came 12 minutes into the second period when Mortimer was upended in the box. His penalty was kept out by Paul Doherty but Alan Dillon scored the rebound and pointed soon afterwards to turn the tide.
However, after Mortimer added another point with seven minutes to go Galway were found wanting.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Roscommon, Monaghan, Longford and London in Division 2A.
In Tullamore youngster Enda Kenny shone for Roscommon but it was two late points from Stuart Daly and Ger Henehan that secured the win.
Monaghan weathered a valiant fightback from Leitrim before rescuing the tie with five unanswered points.
In Ruislip London demolished Carlow by 4-11 to 1-07 in Ruislip, while Longford beat Clare 2-10 to 0-10 at Pearse Park.
