Galway hurling boss John McIntyre has drafted nine new faces in on to his panel for the 2010 season, meaning high-profile names such as Alan Kerrins and Fergal Healy are omitted.

The manager has insisted, however, that nobody has been frozen out.

"The squad is open at both ends and as we showed this year, team management will be quite flexible in moving players in and out as the need arises," he said.

One of those included is 2005 Young Hurler of the Year David Collins, who has been out for two years through injury.

Defender Tony Óg Regan returns having been overlooked last year, while Iarla Tannion and Ciaran O’Donovan also return from injury.

Both Damien McClearn and David Tierney have opted out.
