Meath 2-14 Laois 0-14:Meath will meet Dublin in the Leinster semi-final next weekend after seeing off the challenge of Laois at Tullamore
Joe Sheridan scored 2-02 for the Royals as they brushed aside the Laois men, despite having Paddy O'Rourke sent off in the 54th minute.
The goalkeeper was dismissed after kicking out at an opposing player but at that stage Meath had a nine point lead and Shane O’Rourke added two more straight after the dismissal.
Laois only managed three points with the numerical advantage, having left themselves to big a gap to bridge in the first half.
Sheridan hit the net twice in the opening period, his first was, in fact, Meath’s opening score.
The second came late in the half after Cian Ward’s free broke loose in the box and he stabbed it home from close range.
It was good enough for a five-point lead at the break and Graham Reilly found his range in the second half to tally four points altogether and help extend Meath’s winning margin.
