Galway footballer Michael Meehan has been rewarded for his goalscoring exploits in March by being named the Vodafone GAA All Star player of the month. Clare's Tony Carmody picked up the hurling award.
Meehan notched an impressive tally of 5-12 in just three games over the month as Galway booked their place in the semi-finals of the National Football League, scoring all four of the Tribesmen's goals against Meath.
Carmody also enjoyed a rich vein of form in front of goal, his tally of 1-8 coming in just two games in March, earning him the man-of-the-match plaudits on both occasions.
"Tony and Michael are two of the outstanding sportsmen of our time," said GAA president Seán Kelly. They have wonderful natural gifts and we are privileged to be able to enjoy their displays."
