Belgrade - Yugoslavia's Tanjug state news agency has reported that former President Slobodan Milosevic did not intend to stand for re-election as leader of his Socialist party.

"Milosevic has explicitly said he does not want to lead the SPS [Socialist Party of Serbia] any more," the agency said, quoting a source from a board preparing for a special party congress later this month.
