Community groups working to tackle drug abuse are under-resourced, according to a west Belfast representative, writes Clare Murphy.

Ms Sue Ramsey, a Sinn Fein Assembly member for the area, yesterday led a delegation that met Ms Jo Daykin, the North's Drugs Co-ordinator.

She said the community was still in a state of shock over the deaths of three young men from a cocktail of alcohol and prescription drugs last weekend.

"We need to see support, recognition, commitment and resources targeted towards a community-led response to this issue," said Ms Ramsey.
