Gardai in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, have again appealed to local women not to go walking on their own at night in the town. The warning comes as the gardai step up their efforts to trace a man they believe has attacked three women in the last three months. All three victims escaped after the man attacked them from behind, attempted to remove their clothing and dragged them off the street.
The first attack came in May, followed by a second in July. The third occurred last Friday. Gardai have not yet released any description of the suspect.
