The mother and her eight-year-old son who were involved in a collision in Monaghan on Tuesday have died.
Mrs Catherine Curtis, who was in her 30s, and her son Wayne were taken to Monaghan General Hospital after the car in which they were travelling collided with a milk tanker on the Monaghan/Cootehill Road near Swanscross.Their deaths were announced this evening.
Three young relatives aged between four and 14 were killed in the incident, while the Mrs Curtis’ husband and their three-month-old baby were not seriously injured.
The driver of the tanker was physically unhurt but treated for shock.
