Widespread flooding has been reported across the country following a prolonged period heavy rainfall.
A number of roads have been reported "barely passable" and AA Roadwatch is urging motorists to drive with "extreme care".
One of the worst-hit areas is Dublin city and county with flooding reported on the slip road from the M50 to the M1 northbound and at the entrance to Dublin Airport.
Access to the motorway at Balbriggan has been closed due to flooding; drivers are being advised to use the Naul interchange instead.
The road between Skerries and Lusk is also reported to be flooded. The Ballyboughal Road in Swords is reported to be flooded but passable. There are also delays on the Tallaght bypass from Jobstown back to Crooksling. Several cars were earlier reported stuck in floods along the Tallaght bypass.
Flooding on the N3 from Navan to Dunshaughlin, and the N2 at Ashbourne on the N2 is flooded but passable. Motorists are warned of spot flooding in Rathoath. The Stillorgan Road between the Rise and Fosters Avenue is also reported flooded but is passable.
There are traffic delays along the N11 at at Loughlinstown due to flooding on the Leopardstown Road. Motorists in Galway have been advised of large quantities of surface water around the city due following heavy overnight rain.
