Tennis: British number one Andy Murray has finally admitted defeat in his bid to be fit for the forthcoming French Open. The 20-year-old has had his wrist in a cast since injuring the joint playing a shot during last week's Hamburg Masters tournament.
And the Scot has already started considering his plans for the grass court season after giving up hope of participating at Roland Garros.
He said: "I saw the doctor yesterday and as I expected I'm going to have to withdraw from the French Open."
"But good news is I got the cast off and I'll start physio treatment tomorrow and take it day by day to see how it feels and reacts.
"I'm not going to make any decisions on the grass yet. I'm going to see the doctor in a week to see how it feels and how much the inflammation has settled."
