The Naval Service has detained a Spanish fishing vessel, off the Cork coast, for alleged breach of fishing regulations.
The Siempre Elifewas detained this afternoon by the Naval ship Le Aoife, approximately 100 miles south west of Mizen Head, Co Cork.
The fishing vessel is being escorted to Castletownbere, where it is expected to arrive early tomorrow morning.
On arrival the fishing vessel will undergo detailed inspection by Officials of the Department of Marine. This is the ninth fishing vessel to be detained by the Naval Service this year.
