There will be no prosecution arising from the death of a woman who fell from a fairground ride at the O2 arena, Dublin Coroner's Court heard today.

Siobhán Healy (31), Willsborough, Ballinlough, Co Roscommon, died after a fall from the Tip Top ride stationed outside the O2 on Dublin’s docklands shortly after she had attended a Britney Spears concert at the venue on October 23th, 2011.

She died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the fall and was pronounced dead at the scene. Ms Healy was an only child and worked as an investment banker in the IFSC. Gardaí launched an investigation appealing for witnesses who were present to come forward and a file was prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. However, updating the Dublin coroner on the case, Insp Gerry Donnelly said the DPP has directed that no prosecution is to take place in relation to the incident, leaving it possible to press ahead with the inquest into Ms Healy’s death.

Coroner Dr Brian Farrell set a date for a full hearing of the inquest on August 1st.
