Unemployed Belfast man Mr Steve Devlin, who scooped £500,000 on ITV's Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? at the weekend, said he had no regrets about not answering the final question which would have doubled his winnings.

Mr Devlin (53) said he had "a pretty good idea" of the answer but "I said I wouldn't go for it unless I was absolutely sure". The question he had faced was: In 1912, former US President Theodore Roosevelt was a candidate for which political party? A: Bull Moose, B: Bull Dog, C: Bull Elephant, or D: Bull Frog. The correct answer was A: Bull Moose.
